Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a straight chain macromolecular mucopolysaccharide composed of repeat disaccharide units of glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine. The commercial hyaluronic acid (HA) is commonly a sodium salt, called sodium hyaluronate.
